| The myth of the god Osiris tells us that he was killed by his jealous brother Seth. Seth cut Osiris's body into many pieces and scattered them around Egypt. Osiris's wife Isis and his son Seth search all over Egypt to retrieve the pieces and bring him back to life. Horus had a great battle with Seth to avenge his father.
So was Seth an evil person? The myth would lead us to think so, but Seth had his own followers in ancient Egypt. The story is so old and we know so little of it that it is hard for us to understand how the Egyptians felt about him. |
